Digging the hole for the swimming pool. A crew of three came to carve out the hole for the "classic" pool we had chosen, complete with whirlpool. They worked for most of the day measuring out the 30' x 16' pool shape and making sure they had the top of the pool and the surrounding form level. At this point we didn't know what the wood form was for, but we watched with interest as they moved the dirt out of the hole and and used it to created a gentle grade down from the pool to the rest of the yard which sloped a lot more than we had realized. At the end of the day, we handed over a check for 50% of the cost of the pool.
