junto is a new restaurant that opened in the space that was Big Fork. It's a modern "farmhouse BYOB" that will prepare food grown and produced in PA and seafood sourced from the Atlantic between the Hudson and Chesapeake Bay which falls into the 400 mile definition of "local". Chef and owner MacGregor Mann arrived in Chadds Ford by way of Amada in Philly, Noma in Denmark and Henry's Fork Lodge in Idaho... impressive cred.
We stopped in on May 4, the first Sunday Brunch at the restaurant, for a tasting that included a STARTER: Chicken Liver Rye Toast, Schmaltz & house made fruit preserves ($4 above); SWEET- WE ARE! Grilled stickies with black walnuts, apple butter & smoked maple syrup ($4.50); SAVORY: House Made Corned Beef Hash, Two eggs any style, root vegetable hash browns ($9.00) and Buckwheat Pancakes, Whipped butter infused with apple and rosemary, PA maple syrup ($6.50 below). Portions were small almost tapaslike, but more than adequate, and all were tasty and delightfully presented... served by a helpful and welcoming staff. We will be back for dinner, and feel very safe in welcoming junto to our list of restaurants we like!
Dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday; brunch is on 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekends.
