Trout fishing in the Newlin Grist Mill ponds is open weekends March through October from 9AM - 4PM. To fish, you must bring a valid driver's license to register in the office. Fees are $3/person, $3/trout. Bait is available for $1. All trout must be kept and paid for. No releasing.
In order to fish in the stream, you need a Pennsylvania fishing license and a Park fly fishing membership. E-mail the Mill at info@newlingristmill.org to request membership information be mailed to you. Fishing privileges in the stream are limited to a list of approved membership numbering no more than 100.

Hundreds of plant lovers from across the nation plan their calendars around this annual event that is acclaimed for it's premier selection of unusual, newly-introduced or difficult to propagate specimens. 600+ plants donated by more than 100 nurseries and individuals from across the country. Proceeds of this event benefit Delaware Center for Horticulture's Community Greening Program, which uses horticulture to beautify Delaware and to improve the quality of life for residents in urban neighborhoods. Everyone taking the tour meets at the first location, and then all drive to the next stop. There are 5-6 homes on the tour. Following the tour you will drive to Turpin Landscaping for a wonderful pig roast. Tickets are $25 each and help support the Chester County Food Bank. Newlin Gristmill Park | South Cheyney Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342
Featuring 8 bands and 8 hours of live music- folk, blue grass, classic and indie rock, Irish, and blues. The stage is located in the park's natural amphitheater, which is accessed through the Cheyney Road gate located south of the Visitor Center. Parking is free; carpooling is encouraged. Bands begin playing at 12pm with a new band playing every hour until 8pm. Gates open at 11:30am. Over 800 people are expected to attend. Make sure to arrive early to stake out good seats and bring lawn chairs and blankets to make yourself comfortable during the festival. Families are encouraged to attend (children 12 and under are free of charge). Leashed and well-behaved dogs are also welcome to join in the fun! Food and drink will be available to purchase from Shoo Mama's Farm Fresh Café,and Victory Brewing Company. Coolers will not be permitted into the festival. Blacksmith demonstrations will also be ongoing throughout the festival and discounted Newlin Grist Mill memberships will be available for purchase. Annual Iron Hill Twilight Criterium; a professional cycling race in historic West Chester. One hundred professional and USCF licensed cyclist's race 60 laps around a 1 mile downtown circuit at speeds of 35 mph. The Pennsylvania Hunt Cup is a Timber steeplechase race with a distance of four miles and 22 fences, over fair hunting country. It is a substantial test of both horse and rider, and is one of just three 4-mile steeplechase races sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association. First run in 1921 over a course in Whitemarsh , PA, the race moved to the present location in Unionville, PA in 1964, where it has been held annually since. Over the years the race meeting has grown so that the race day card now includes three sanctioned timber races, and the Pennsylvania Pony Hunt Cup for children.

This annual event showcases local celebrated working artists, UHS Alumni, and current UHS Students along with live music and great food. This year's featured Artist is Margaret Matuszewski.
