Bring your sweetheart and come celebrate with the wineries of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail as they present delicious wine and chocolate tastings and other romantic events throughout the month!

Tastings begin every half an hour starting at 12 pm with the last class beginning at 5:30 pm.  Each class is limited to 20 people.  NO Reservations.  First come, first served, so be sure to come early for the time you want.  This is a guided sit down tasting of 6-8 parings of wine and chocolate.  You have to have a sweet tooth for this one.  Casual atmosphere.  Well have some interesting pairings to impress your friends or sweetheart. Cost $20 per person

After a day of painting in Chaddsford and the Brandywine Valley, 30 juried artists from mid-Atlantic states return to the Chadds Ford Historical Society's Barn Visitors Center to frame and hang their paintings for a special exhibit and art sale. 6 p.m. Preview ticket holders will be treated to a first look and sale of wet paintings, hors d'oeuvres, and wine. Sales will continue through March 16, 2014 at the Chadds Ford Historical Society's Barn Visitors Center. For more information please call (610) 388-7376. Premium Wine Tasting Class. Tastings begin every half an hour starting at 12 pm with the last class beginning at 5:30 pm.  Each class is limited to 20 people.  For Valentine's must have Reservations.  This is a guided sit down tasting of 8 pairings of wine and chocolate.  You must have a sweet tooth for this one.  Includes a box of the chocolates you tasted to take home with you.  We'll have some interesting pairings to impress your friends or sweetheart. $30 per person.  Must RSVP. Chadds Ford Art Sale & Show features works by over 70 professional artists from the Brandywine Valley and beyond. Featured Artist is the nationally known American Realist painter, J. Wayne Bystrom. His oil paintings focus on beautiful landscapes, historical sites, wildlife, and garden scenes. Donating Artist is Shawn Faust, an award winning Brandywine Valley artist who creates magnificent oil paintings of horses, landscapes, and people. Some of Faust's famous commissions include Barbaro and Seattle Slew. This year's 65th annual show also welcomes special Artisan guests from around the area to its show on March 22nd.  Artisan goods include hand crafted jewelry, wooden items, food samples, and much more.

In order to fish in the stream, you need a Pennsylvania fishing license and a Park fly fishing membership. E-mail the Mill at info@newlingristmill.org to request membership information be mailed to you. Fishing privileges in the stream are limited to a list of approved membership numbering no more than 100.
Trout fishing in the Newlin Grist Mill ponds is open weekends March through October from 9AM - 4PM. To fish, you must bring a valid driver's license to register in the office. Fees are $3/person, $3/trout. Bait is available for $1. All trout must be kept and paid for. No releasing.

Sandy Hollow at the junction of New Street and Birminham Road
A 2-day live historical battle re-enactment event. Come for one day or both. Meet soldiers, talk strategy with the generals, find out how cannons are fired, and much more. This is one of just a few battle reenactments that will happen on the actual site of the battle.

All day long, there will be demonstrations. You'll see artillery, cavalry, daily life of soldiers. You can hear the generals talk about the day's fighting and strategy and talk with "camp followers"--women who traveled with the army to cook, wash and be with their men. Music is likely to happen spontaneously--look out for the bawdy lyrics!

The event is free, and so is parking.

Featuring 8 bands and 8 hours of live music- folk, blue grass, classic and indie rock, Irish, and blues. The stage is located in the park's natural amphitheater, which is accessed through the Cheyney Road gate located south of the Visitor Center.  Parking is free; carpooling is encouraged. Bands begin playing at 12pm with a new band playing every hour until 8pm. Gates open at 11:30am. Over 800 people are expected to attend.  Make sure to arrive early to stake out good seats and bring lawn chairs and blankets to make yourself comfortable during the festival.  Families are encouraged to attend (children 12 and under are free of charge).  Leashed and well-behaved dogs are also welcome to join in the fun!  Food and drink will be available to purchase from Shoo Mama's Farm Fresh Café, and Victory Brewing Company. Coolers will not be permitted into the festival. Blacksmith demonstrations will also be ongoing throughout the festival and discounted Newlin Grist Mill memberships will be available for purchase. The Pennsylvania Hunt Cup is a Timber steeplechase race with a distance of four miles and 22 fences, over fair hunting country. It is a substantial test of both horse and rider, and is one of just three 4-mile steeplechase races sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association. First run in 1921 over a course in Whitemarsh , PA, the race moved to the present location in Unionville, PA in 1964, where it has been held annually since. Over the years the race meeting has grown so that the race day card now includes three sanctioned timber races, and the Pennsylvania Pony Hunt Cup for children.
