The plasterers arrived about 7:30 Tuesday morning... a crew of five. They started by cleaning the pool and chipping away any shocrete bumps or clumbs with hand axes and other hand tools. I was amazed they didn't wear eye protection since there were stone chips flying everywhere. It took them about an hour to prep the pool, acid wash the steps and install the drains and water jets in the pool and spa. Then they mixed the plaster and started to shovel it into the pool and spread it with trowels. They all had three or four pairs of footwear; rubber boots, sneakers with spikes attached so walk in the wet plaster and slippers to walk on the plaster once it had set up. Smoothing and polishing the plaster took about 2 hours. The spa came last and then they cleaned up the coping tiles. They pool really gleamed in the sun when they were finished. They dropped a hose in the pool and I filled up the spa with water from another hose. Now all there was to do was wait for the water truck due to arrive Wednesday morning. It took four+ tanker truck loads of water to fill the pool... over 25,000 gallons.
