WOW!!! Our pool was done... well almost. Mike the pool service guy arrived at about 3 PM for my "indoc" or pool indoctrination. He gave me an overview of the pool, "a fish tank for people" and explained the operation of the pool, the water supply and return functions, the skimmers, the filter, the pump and heater, etc. The indoc took three hours and was a bit overwhelming... a lot to absorb for a new pool owner, but I took it all in. He also showed me how to operate the Ray Vac and the pool vacuum, how and when to clean the filters, backwashing, isolating the spa so we could heat it independently of the pool and then handed me the 16 foot pool brush and showed me how to brush the pool of plaster dust. I was to do that twice a day for two weeks. He finished by selling me about $200 worth of chemicals, showing me how to test the water and tried to sell me a $2000 pool cover... the Cadillac of covers that he recommends. I wasn't ready to deal with that just yet. I told him I would think about it after our deck and landscaping was finished. That was the next part of the pool process.
